Dear OLOL Families,
May is a month filled with deep gratitude, love, and reflection. As we journey through this beautiful time of year, I want to take a moment to celebrate two very special occasions that remind us of God’s love and the many ways it is reflected in the people around us: Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day and Mother’s Day.
This week, we honored our incredible faculty and staff—individuals who pour their hearts into their vocation each and every day. Teaching is not just a profession; it is a ministry. Our teachers and support staff are the hands and feet of Christ in the classroom. They guide with compassion, serve with patience, and love with a generosity that mirrors the heart of our Savior. Whether they are in the classroom, the front office, or the maintenance team, each member of our school family plays a vital role in nurturing our children academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Their tireless commitment speaks volumes of their dedication not just to education but to the mission of Catholic education. It is a joy and a blessing to serve alongside them.
As we also prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day, we lift up all mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and mother-figures in prayer. In the Blessed Virgin Mary, we see the ultimate example of love, strength, and devotion. Mary’s "yes" to God changed the world. Her quiet strength, unwavering faith, and tender care are qualities that live on in every mother who selflessly gives of herself for the good of her family.
To our mothers—thank you for being the first teachers of the faith, for modeling kindness and compassion, and for your unshakable love that provides a foundation of security and grace in our children’s lives.
May this month of Mary remind us all to seek her intercession and strive to follow her example. Let us continue to lift one another up in prayer and in thanksgiving for the many blessings we have in our school community.
Wishing you a joyful and blessed Mother's Day!
