Dear Jaguar Families,
This week at OLOL was truly a testament to our four pillars: Spiritual, Academic, Physical, and Social. Each day reflected the heart of our mission, forming well-rounded students who grow in faith, knowledge, character, and community.
We began the week with a Professional Day for our faculty and staff, themed “Nurturing Growth and Cultivating Ourselves.” The day began with reflection and gratitude as we shared our “Lollipop Moments.” A lollipop moment is an unexpected act of kindness or encouragement that makes a lasting impact on someone else’s life, often without even realizing it. Together, we shared stories of how small gestures can create ripples of inspiration in our school community and each other.
In the spirit of giving, each faculty member also participated in a Build-A-Bear workshop, creating stuffed animals to be donated to St. Ann’s Nursing Home. These bears, made with love and prayer, will bring joy and comfort to residents, reminding us that service and compassion are central to our vocation as Catholic educators.
The afternoon focused on the academic pillar as teachers prepared for upcoming data chats with students. They explored the new Technology Padlet, thoughtfully created by Mrs. Balaguer-Chavez, filled with practical tools and tips to enhance digital learning and instructional practices.
Midweek, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders enjoyed a field trip to the Actors’ Playhouse to see Shrek the Musical. Beyond the laughter and music, Shrek offered a meaningful lesson about acceptance, inner beauty, and the importance of embracing who God created us to be.
Our Kindergarten students celebrated their much-loved Q & U Wedding, a joyful and creative tradition symbolizing the special bond between these two letters. Dressed in their elegant wedding attire, dresses, bow ties, and big smiles, they reminded us that learning can be both magical and memorable!
Meanwhile, our 8th graders had their first visit to Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, where they experienced firsthand everything Belen has to offer. The day was filled with excitement and discovery as they toured the campus, met students, and witnessed the spirit of the Wolverines.
Our JV Boys Basketball Team also gave us reason to celebrate as they finished their season undefeated! Their teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship shone throughout the season. To honor their incredible accomplishment, the team received their well-deserved Jaguar jackets and enjoyed a special Chick-fil-A lunch in recognition of their hard work and success. Congratulations to our athletes and Coach Chio for representing Jaguar Nation with excellence on and off the court!
The week concluded with a burst of Jaguar pride at the Academic Olympics hosted by St. Brendan High School. Our students displayed remarkable dedication, teamwork, and resilience, bringing home bronze, silver, and gold medals! Their accomplishments reflect not only their academic excellence but also their unwavering determination and school spirit.
This week was a beautiful reminder that every experience, whether in the classroom, on stage, in service, or in friendly competition, helps shape the faith-filled leaders of tomorrow. We are proud of our faculty, staff, and students for embodying the true essence of Jaguar Nation: hearts that love, minds that grow, and spirits that serve.
God is good... #JaguarNation #FaithKnowledgeServiceExcellence
