Academic Overview

PK3 - 8th Grade

Preschool and elementary school is a very special time and comes only once in a lifetime. It is a time of learning, exploration, growth and independence. At our school, we will help your child flourish through these wonderful years of childhood and build an educational foundation.

We will encourage this process by providing a curriculum that will interest, challenge and prepare your child for the future, as well as help your child reach his or her potential. Along with a strong academic program, we foster a love for God and a love of learning through a variety of experiences that create lifetime memories. We explore our world through weekly lessons.

All students (PK3 - 8th Grade) partake in enrichment classes in Music, Art, Physical Education and Spanish.

Curriculum

Florida Early Learning and Development Standards (Preschool)
  • Preschool curriculum complies with and surpasses standards for PK3 and PK4 students.
  • Curriculum is regularly updated to meet the needs of our students.
Archdiocese of Miami Curriculum Standards (K - 8th Grade)
  • Follow the Archdiocese of Miami (ADOM) Standards which consists of the Florida State Standards for English Language Arts and Math in conjunction with the Catholic Identity for Schools Standards.
  • Use research-based curriculum for our core classes , English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, from recognized publishers, Pearson, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt , Sadlier and McGraw-Hill.
  • Regularly update our curriculum to meet the needs of our students.
TerraNova and lnView Standardized Assessments
  • Terra Nova measures achievement in Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Vocabulary and Spelling for 2nd - 8th Grade students.
  • In View assesses students' cognitive abilities in verbal reasoning, sequencing, analysis and quantitative reasoning for 2nd - 8th Grade students.
  • These assessments are utilized for curriculum development and assist teachers improve instruction in the classroom.
Teacher Development
  • Teachers are continuously engaged in Professional Development, Professional Learning Communities and Peer to Peer coaching to help them learn effective instructional strategies and stay updated on new Educational trends.
  • All teachers are required to be certified by the Florida D.O.E.
